Where Heritage, Nature & Belonging Meet

A proposed heritage landscape celebrating Indian culture, Hindu philosophy and community traditions in the heart of the British countryside.

The Project

A landscape-led heritage destination, considered with care.

Shiv Gardens is a proposed cultural heritage destination designed to preserve, celebrate and share Indian heritage, Hindu philosophy and community traditions through immersive landscaped experiences in the British countryside.

The vision is grounded in nature — woodland, water and quiet pathways — rather than in built attractions. It is intended as a long-term legacy project for families, schools, communities and the wider public.

Landscape-led

Designed in harmony with woodland, water and existing natural character.

Educational

School visits, curriculum support and storytelling for every generation.

Community-rooted

Built with and for British-Indian communities and the wider public.

Sustainable

Low-impact development, biodiversity-first planting, peaceful visitor flow.

Masterplan Vision

A site shaped by its landscape.

The proposed site spans approximately 150 acres of British countryside, with a 4.5–5km heritage loop trail set within woodland, lakes and natural pathways.

  • ~150 acres. Of integrated woodland, water and meadow.
  • 4.5–5 km loop. A continuous, accessible heritage trail.
  • Lakes & woodland. Existing natural character preserved.
  • Educational zones. Interpretation woven into the landscape.
  • Phased delivery. Considered, long-term development.

Heritage & Education

Preserving heritage for future generations.

At its heart, Shiv Gardens is an educational and intergenerational project — a living place to share British-Indian heritage with schools, families and the wider public.

Each scene along the trail is supported by interpretation, storytelling and curriculum-aligned learning, designed to bring culture, philosophy and history to life in a meaningful way.

School visits

Educational programmes for primary, secondary and SEN groups.

QR audio guides

Layered storytelling at every scene, in multiple languages.

Curriculum support

Teaching resources aligned to RE, History and Geography.

Cultural interpretation

Honouring tradition through accurate, sensitive design.

Landscape & Sustainability

Designed in harmony with nature.

The proposed development is led by its landscape — preserving woodland, protecting biodiversity and integrating water features as part of the natural setting.

Built elements are kept low-impact and dispersed within the site, with quiet pathways and considered visitor flow designed to maintain a peaceful, restorative atmosphere.
